FDLE investigates deputies' involvement in Flagler shooting

FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. — The Florida Department of Law Enforcement said it is investigating the fatal shooting of a Palm Coast man that put two Flagler County deputies on administrative leave.

Deputies Brandon Fiveash and Joseph Dailey responded to a call that Troy Gordon was threatening his family with a machete, said authorities.  According to investigators, Gordon turned the weapon on them when they arrived.

Officials told WFTV that Fiveash used a Taser to try to stop him, and when that didn't work, Dailey fired the fatal shot.

According to the sheriff's department, in situations like this one, administrative leave is part of agency policy.
