Police arrest man accused of trying to sexually assault woman outside IHOP

ORLANDO, Fla. — Orlando police said they have arrested a man accused of trying to sexually assault a woman outside an Orlando IHOP earlier this week.

Police said Edgar Collazo, 24, was arrested and charged with false imprisonment, exposure of sexual organs, attempt sexual battery with firearm and aggravated battery with a firearm.

Police said Collazo turned himself in and was taken to the Orange County Jail on Wednesday. Officials said he was released at 2:11 p.m.

While police were searching for Collazo they said believed he might go by the nickname "Hello Kitty." On Wednesday police explained the nickname saying Collazo has a large Hello Kitty tattoo on his upper arm.

According to police, a 20-year-old woman was walking to her car about 4 a.m. Monday when a man approached her in the Colonial Drive IHOP parking lot and tried to attack her.

Authorities said the man began inappropriately touching himself and asked her to perform a sexual act. When she refused, police said the man forced himself on top of her and tried to sexually assault her.

Officers said the man then got in his car and drove off.
