College Park death ruled homicide; Person of interest sought

ORLANDO, Fla. — Police are searching for a potential suspect after a man was found dead in his College Park apartment Tuesday morning.

Police said the victim was found in a garage apartment behind a home on West Princeton Street, close to Princeton Elementary School.

The man name has not yet been released.

In the meantime, officers said they’re searching for  Xin Liu, 24, as a person of interest in connection with the homicide.

“Obviously he's considered a potential suspect, so we don't know,” said Sgt. Jim Young of the Orlando Police Department. “We don't believe he's a threat to the general public. This appears to be an isolated incident, but we are actively searching for him.”

Adventist University was placed on lockdown during the search for Liu on Tuesday. Channel 9 learned he used to be a student at the school.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crimeline at 1-800-423-TIPS (8477).
