Police: Woman said she fatally stabbed boyfriend because he 'put a curse on her'

KISSIMMEE, Fla. — A Kissimmee woman accused of fatally stabbing her boyfriend told police she did it because he put a curse on her, according to authorities.

According to a police report, Amanda Lopez told officers the only way to free herself from the curse was to kill Larry Fryar or kill herself.

Reports said she filed an injunction against Fryar in March 2013.

She told police she had been thinking of killing her boyfriend for over a year.

Police said she stabbed him nearly 10 times in the chest, and then went to a nearby pool where she cleaned off his blood.

Fryar died at a hospital after being found in his home with multiple stab wounds Monday at an apartment on Lake Tivoli Boulevard, officers said.

Lopez was charged with first-degree murder.

She was picked up by police in Orlando while she was trying to board a bus to New York, authorities said.
