Police: Longwood teens made up abduction attempt story

LONGWOOD, Fla. — Longwood police said two teens who reported that someone tried to abduct one of them on Sunday made the story up.

According to police, one teen told them he was running with a friend along Longwood Street near Orange Avenue when a man jumped out of the woods near the railroad tracks and grabbed him.

The teens said that they, and the man, fell to the ground and rolled down a hill into a ditch, police said.

Police said that during their investigation the teens' clothing was clean, and there were no signs of a physical confrontation.

Later, police said, the teens admitted there was no abduction attempt.

Police said the teens told them they made the story up because they were out later than they were supposed to be.
