Police: Man tried to kidnap teen girls from RV park

OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — A man is facing criminal charges after police said he tried to kidnap two teenagers from a RV park in St. Cloud.

Investigators said Randall Martin tried to abduct two girls who were swimming in the pool Thursday night at the RV park where he lives on Boggy Creek Road.

Christine McCarthy's going-away party with her relatives didn't end how she planned. Her nieces were almost kidnapped by a man no one knew.

Deputies said Martin tried to pull one of the teens into his truck while they were walking back from the swimming pool behind the main office.

"Two girls should be able to walk from the pool back to where they needed to go safely," said McCarthy.

"They did indicate that he was observing them so he may have been watching them for quite some time," said Twis Lizasuain, spokeswoman for the Osceola County Sheriff's Office.

WFTV attended Martin's first appearance at the Osceola County Jail Friday afternoon.

He had nothing to say to the judge, only shaking his head as the charges were read.

According to the arrest report, Martin not only tried to kidnap the girls, but deputies said he also used a nine-inch Flathead screwdriver to attack a victim's father after the girls screamed for help.

The victim's father wasn't hurt.

Martin is being held in the Osceola County Jail on more than $55,000 bond.

Neighbors told WFTV he had moved into the RV park two weeks ago to work in the area.
