Kissimmee police are asking for the public's help in tracking down a man wanted in connection with a sexual battery that happened over the weekend.
The incident happened Sunday between a shuttered K-Mart and Jason’s Asian Market near the corner of Vine Street and North Thacker Avenue, the Kissimmee Police Department said.
A surveillance camera at a nearby gas station caught a glimpse of the man investigators believe was involved.
While the images captured were blurry, police were hoping that someone might recognize the man’s distinguishing features.
He is described as Hispanic, 25-30 years old with a goatee and long black, frizzy hair.
At the time of the attack, he was wearing a red shirt with white lettering on the front, police said.
Tourist Brian Dawson couldn’t believe anyone would attack someone in such a visible area.
“It’s kind of unbelievable,” he said. “I mean, it looks like such a peaceful place."
“It’s a horrible thing to happen anywhere, but in a parking lot, near a brightly lit store, it’s amazing to me that somebody would be so brazen.”
Anyone with information on the attack or individual believed to be involved, is asked to contact the Kissimmee Police Department at 407-846-3333, or Crimeline, 800-423-TIPS.
