• Police: Shopper accidentally fired gun in restroom of mall in Sanford

    SANFORD, Fla. - Police responded to a call Friday about an “accidental discharge of a firearm” inside a mall, according to a tweet by Sanford police.

     

    Police said the incident happened at the Seminole Town Center Mall on Towne Center Circle.

     

    Authorities said a shopper accidentally fired the gun inside the restroom of the food court. The bullet hit the ceiling, authorities said.

     

    There is no active shooter at the scene and no one was injured, police said.  

     

    Police cleared the scene without incident.

     

    It is unknown whether charges were filed.
