Police: Winter Garden man threatened family with chainsaw

WINTER GARDEN, Fla. — A Winter Garden man is facing charges after police said he threatened his family with a chainsaw.

Police responded to home on Grand Royal Circle Thursday in reference to a domestic disturbance.

A woman told police she was in a fight with her husband, 31-year-old Brandon Hodge, but she wasn’t sure why police were called.

The officer was later flagged down by Hodge's sister and her boyfriend  in a white van who said Hodge threatened them with a chainsaw. The police officer called deputies and after they arrived, the officer received a call that there were two cars driving recklessly near the Tri-City Center.

The officer caught up with the cars by the police station. The same people who flagged him down earlier said Hodge was chasing their car, but Hodge was nowhere to be found.

Hodge was then spotted at Timbercreek Pines Circle.

The officer chased Hodge toward Grisham Street until Hodge reached a 7-foot-tall fence and had nowhere else to run.

Hodge was held at Taser-point until more units arrived at the scene.

Police found a chainsaw in Hodge's truck.

He is facing charges of aggravated assault with a motor vehicle.
