4 shot, 1 dead in Polk County shooting

HAINES CITY, Fla. — Haines City police are looking for a person who shot four people, killing one of them.

Police said the shooting happened just before 9 p.m. Thursday on 15th Street near U.S. 17 North.

Officers said three men and a woman were shot and taken to a hospital. They said Oscar Lee Hendrix Jr., 36, of Haines City died in the shooting.

It’s not known how the others are doing.

Police also said several bullets struck a home in the area, where a mother and children were inside.

Three cars were also hit.

Police said they don’t have a suspect.
