• Possible tornado touches down in Deltona

    DELTONA, Fla. - Officials in Volusia County said like their counterparts in Palm Coast, they received reports of possible tornado touchdowns in Deltona.

    Fire, power and tree removal crews responded after two reports were called in to the Volusia County Sheriff's Office's Communications Center shortly before 7 a.m. Sunday.

    Initial reports from residents were that a tornado possibly touched down at the intersection of Twin Lake Avenue and Cambay Street.

    Residents said a tree caught fire, possibly from lightning, while another tree fell on a car. There was also a downed power line and fence damage.

    The second report of damage came from the 1100 block of Enterprise-Osteen Road. Initial reports from residents included large tree limbs down in the road, which had to be closed.

    No injuries were reported.
