• Power outage hits Kennedy Space Center

KENNEDY SPACE CENTER - A portion of the Kennedy Space Center was without power late Wednesday afternoon.

A breaker problem at a substation knocked power out.

Officials with the center said the entire industrial area at the space center, including the Space Station Processing Facility and the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex, lost power.

Traffic signals were  out and traffic at the space center was being controlled by Kennedy Space Center patrols, according to officials.

Around 5:15 p.m. officials said power was being restored to the visitors center.

Florida Power and Light is working on restoring power to the entire center, officials said.
