Fire rescue: 11-year-old in grave condition after shooting self in the eye

An 11-year-old boy was taken to the hospital after accidentally shooting himself in the eye, according to Orange County Fire Rescue.

Firefighters said the boy shot himself at a home on North Pine Hills Road shortly before 6 p.m. Saturday.

The boy was taken to Arnold Palmer hospital as a trauma alert.

Deputies identified the boy as Michael Sconiers and said he is in grave condition.

First responders said they believe the shooting was accidental.
