2 survive after plane crashes into Indian River in Brevard County

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — Rescue crews were called to a downed plane in Brevard County Friday afternoon, Channel 9 has learned.

The place was found submerged in the Indian River in Merritt Island about 4 p.m.

Officials said two people on the plane survived the crash and were picked up by good Samaritans and taken to a nearby dock.  Both victims are being looked at by paramedics.

There's no word on what caused the plane to crash.
