Robber shoots at off-duty Orange Co. deputy

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Investigators said a suspected robber opened fire on an off-duty deputy at an Orange County apartment complex.

Officers said no one was hurt at the Silver Oaks apartments on Powers Drive.

Investigators said the deputy was working apartment security when he witnessed the robbery. They said the robber fired at him and he returned fire.

The culprit, Ridge Gabriel, 17, was later arrested.
