University of Central Florida football coach Scott Frost is leaving UCF to return to his alma mater, the University of Nebraska.
“This has truly been one of the most difficult decisions I’ve ever made. I’m very proud of what this group of student-athletes and coaches has accomplished during my tenure at UCF," Frost said during a news conference after the game.
Frost, who grew up in Nebraska, won a national championship as the Cornhuskers’ quarterback in 1997.
Sources said he will take over Nebraska’s program with a seven-year, $35 million contract.
