Search continues for human trafficking suspects while teen victim lives in fear

ORLANDO, Fla. — Police are still looking for two people accused of luring two teenage sisters from home and selling them for sex.

Avorice Holman and Jose Sotomayor, who are accused of being involved in the alleged human-trafficking operation, were arrested, but the search is still on for Karla Alsina and Arthur Coleman.

Orlando police said Alsina and Coleman sold the 14-and 15-year-old teenagers for sex and plied them with drugs.

“They gave the drugs to the girls in order for them to forget about having sex with men,” said Det. Michael Fields, of the Orlando Police Department.

Police said the 14-year-old died of a drug overdose in August following eight days of being trafficked for sex.

Police said Sotomayor recruited the victims through a mutual friend, who promised them lots of money.

Coleman was the alleged ringleader.

Even though Alsina is a wanted woman, the victims’ mother said through social media on Wednesday that Alsina has been contacting the 15-year-old victim.

She said her daughter is living in fear and their biggest concern is that Coleman is still on the run.
