Seminole County teacher accused of sex with student arrested again

SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. — Investigators said a Seminole County high school teacher has been arrested again and is now accused of having sex with two students.

Scott Kimbrough, 39, faced judge at the Seminole County jail around noon Saturday. Kimbrough was granted a $30,000 bond. He's facing multiple counts of sexual assault on a minor and lewd and lascivious behavior.

Late Friday, deputies said a second student came forward claiming to have had sex with the math teacher. Kimbrough bonded out after his first arrest on Thursday, but was back in the Seminole County jail by Friday afternoon.

The student told authorities she and Kimbrough had sex at his house about two years ago, just after she turned 15-years-old.

According to Kimbrough's arrest affidavit, he told the her not to tell anyone about their sexual relationship. The student also sent the teacher nude photos of herself, deputies said.

The school board put Kimbrough on paid leave after his first arrest and he has been recommended for termination.

Esther Curry is a parent and said what happened at her daughter's high school is disgraceful. She said her daughter has known one of the students involved since kindergarten.

"It's quite a shock, for myself, and to speak for every other parent who has children here," Curry said.

WFTV's legal analyst Bill Sheaffer said teachers usually receive a harsher sentence than their counterparts who commit similar crimes.

Investigators said they believe there could be more students out there who had sexual relations with Kimbrough. The investigation remains ongoing.
