Leonard is facing a charge of possession of a firearm on school property.

The school sent out an email to parents saying that a disassembled firearm was found in a student’s backpack, but that no threat was made against the school.

The email said, "the situation was resolved safely in minutes" after being investigated by law enforcement.

School officials said the student will be disciplined per the student code of conduct.

This is the second incident where a student managed to get a gun onto the campus of the high school within the last year.
