Seminole County students go back to school

SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. — Seminole County public school students are heading back to class Monday.

"We compare ourselves to the 17 largest districts in the state. Seminole County finished first in reading, first in math and first in science. So we're very, very proud. So, this year is about building our success," said Superintendent Walt Griffen.

Students in Orange, Lake, Osceola and Volusia counties will join them next week.

Meanwhile, Sumter County students are headed into their third day of classes after starting last Thursday.
