1 hurt as fire destroys Sanford home without smoke detectors, firefighters say

SANFORD, Fla. — Fire gutted a home in Sanford on Friday.

As Channel 9 arrived on the scene, smoke was still coming from the house on Harding Avenue.

Several people were inside the home at the time the fire broke out.

Fire crews worked quickly to put out the blaze, but one person did suffer minor injuries.

The Red Cross was called out to help the family.

The house was a total loss, and the cause is under investigation.
