Happy anniversary: Winter Springs couple celebrates 75 years of marriage

WINTER SPRINGS, Fla. — Katherine and Ed Corr met 81 years ago at a roller rink in Queens, New York, and on Thursday they’re celebrating skating into their 75th year of marriage.

The Winter Springs couple are celebrating their 75th anniversary with wedding cake and entertainment Thursday afternoon at The Watermark at Vistawilla, the assisted living facility where they live.

Katherine and Ed, who are now 95 and 99 years old, respectively, married in 1947 after Ed returned from serving in the Navy during World War II.

After meeting on the rink, the couple said they often roller-skated in Madison Square Gardens, and continued couple-skating until they were in their early 80s.

The couple have three daughters, five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
