‘I feel safer’: Sanford retirement center residents receive COVID-19 vaccine

SANFORD, Fla. — Workers and residents of a retirement center in Sanford got their COVID-19 vaccine shots on Friday.

Many residents at the Renaissance Retirement Center said they hope this shot is the next step to keep them living for a long time into their golden years.

“I feel safer, certainly, hoping to be able to see more of my family a little later,” resident James Rice said.

The retirement center partnered with CVS to distribute and administer the vaccine to residents and its employees.

Those who got the vaccine on Friday will have to get a second shot later on.
