Storms are getting an earlier, but more typical, start on Tuesday, Channel 9 Certified Chief Meteorologist Tom Terry said.

A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for Seminole and Volusia counties.

The seabreeze moving inland and colder air in the upper atmosphere will work together to bring heavy or briefly severe storms to the area, Terry said.
The threat of lightning, gusts of wind up to 50 mph and hail are all on tap for Tuesday, Terry said.

Storms are expected to percolate through sunset.
