Suspect identified in shooting near Oviedo park

SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. — Seminole County deputies have identified a man accused of shooting a gun in Oviedo.

The shooting happened shortly after 10:30 a.m. Monday at County Road 426 and Oklahoma Street near Shane Kelly Park, deputies said.

Deputies said Marc Garcia fired off dozens of shots at passing vehicles and businesses on County Road 426 near Oviedo Gardens. They said he faces several gun and drug charges.

Investigators said Garcia was taken to a hospital because he was impaired.

A second person was brought in for questioning, but he's not facing any charges, deputies said.

"I ran back in and said to my employees, which are my daughters, and said, 'there is gunfire going on our there,' She said, 'No mom, you're crazy.' I said, 'No come out here,' so they came out underneath the awning and they heard a bullet go by go 'ting' that way," Linda Wiggins, owner of the Tack Shack, said.

Two handguns were located in the truck, deputies said.

No injuries were reported.

A motive for the alleged shootings has not been released.
