FHP: St. Cloud teen found dead day after crashing into wooded area

ST. CLOUD, Fla. — An 18-year-old St. Cloud woman was found dead a day after her car veered off the road and into a wooded area, according to Florida Highway Patrol troopers.

Troopers said Lindsey Ward was speeding down northbound US 441 when, for an unknown reason, she veered onto the east shoulder of the road Friday.

According to reports, she struck several bushes before going airborne and hitting several trees.

Her car was found Saturday after friends started looking for her.

The crash is still under investigation.
