The latest incident on Wednesday happened just steps away from the school along Atlantic Avenue.
Police said Wednesday's fight stemmed from another that happened last Thursday involving the same workers and the same students.
Officer said claims of racial slurs being thrown back and forth from the students and the workers instigated the fight and about 20 students and two construction workers involved.
We have also learned that one of the workers threatened the students with a gun but did not pull it out of his pocket, police said.
Officers said that construction worker had a concealed weapons permit and police that were nearby were able to break up the fight quickly.
There was another fight on Friday near the high school where a ninth-grader pulled out a knife, police said. Officials said no one was hurt and the student was charged with aggravated assault.
School officials said more than 700 students stayed home on Tuesday, following a threat from an unidentified student saying that a gun would be brought to campus on that day.
Officials said the high school was not placed on lockdown due to the fights and no weapons were found on campus.
A spokesperson said the school has taken action against some of the students involved.
Officers said there has been an increased police presence at the school because of all of the recent incidents.
