Lack of available doses slows Florida’s COVID-19 vaccine roll out

There isn’t a day that goes by that critics have something to say about how Florida has handed out vaccines.

The division of emergency management director put the blame directly on the federal government, and he’s not the only one.

Over the past few days, a vaccine shortage has caused thousands of people in The Villages who were scheduled for the vaccine to be told there are no vaccines and they will have to wait for now.

Some showed up at a drive-thru site this weekend only to find out there were no vaccines to be had.

As of Monday, the VA also said they have given out all their vaccine and are waiting on more allotments, telling veterans they will let them know when vaccination efforts will restart.
