Taxpayers to pick up tab for new restaurant at Amway Center; Correction

WFTV previously reported on the progress of the new restaurant in the Amway Center and erroneously stated that NBA City Restaurant was the owner of the new restaurant who entered into a lease with the City of Orlando and subsequently failed to pay the construction company who built the restaurant.

The name of the proposed restaurant was The Club at NBA City, not NBA City Restaurant.

The owners of NBA City Restaurant were not a party to the lease with the City or the construction contract.  Rather, GRAT, LLC was the entity that failed to obtain financing, defaulted on the lease with the City and failed to pay the contractor.
