POLK COUNTY, Fla. — A central Florida teen has been sentenced to life in prison for fatally shooting an Orlando musician outside a bar during a set break.
A Polk County judge sentenced 19-year-old Samuel Sweet Jr. on Wednesday. He was convicted in January of first-degree murder.
Ralph Ameduri Jr. had been playing bass at a Winter Haven bar in September 2011. Authorities say he was shot in the head during a botched robbery.
The defense argued that one of the teens who testified against Sweet was the real shooter.
Sweet was found guilty of first-degree murder in January.
