BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — The 26th Annual Space Coast State Fair is set to kick off in Brevard County this week but already it's off to a rough start after thieves stole a safe containing thousands of dollars at Space Coast Stadium.
Authorities said they were called about 2 p.m. Tuesday after the thieves broke into a trailer and took off with a safe.
Crime scene technicians spent the day looking for clues but no arrests have been made.
Investigators believe a man and woman likely went in through the door and stole the safe. Authorities said they're still going through the paperwork but it appears up to $100,000 could have been stolen.
Authorities said the robbers fled in a gray, four-door sedan.
An alert has been sent to other law enforcement agencies to be on the lookout but aside from the vehicle, there's no description to go on.
