TikTok trend causes shortage of drug used to help treat Type 2 diabetes

ORLANDO, Fla. — A drug used to treat diabetes is now causing a stir on social media.

Ozempic, a drug originally used to treat Type 2 diabetes, is now being prescribed for weight loss and it’s leading to a nationwide shortage.

The new TikTok craze has many diabetic patients outraged as they struggle to get the medication needed to manage their disease.
