Troopers: 1 dead, 1 hospitalized after car crashes into large pickup truck in De Leon Springs

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — One person is dead, and another is in the hospital with serious injuries, after crashing into a large pickup truck.

Troopers said the deadly crash happened on U.S. Highway 17 and West Davis Street in De Leon Springs just after 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

Investigators said a Hyundai Elantra ran into the back of a Ford F-350.

The driver of that car was air-lifted to Halifax Hospital.

According to a report, the passenger inside of the car died at a hospital.

The people in the truck were not hurt.
