Troopers: Newlyweds who arrived in Florida for honeymoon injured in hit-and-run crash on I-95

VOLUSIA COUNTY, FLA. — A newlywed couple who had just arrived in Florida for their honeymoon was injured in a hit-and-run crash in Volusia County on Monday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Just after 11:30 p.m., troopers said a white Dodge Charger was merging onto southbound I-95 from LPGA Boulevard when it collided with another vehicle.

The collision caused the car that the Charger struck to overturn, troopers said.

The driver of the overturned vehicle suffered life-threatening injuries, and was taken to a local hospital.

Troopers said the couple in the overturned vehicle were newlyweds from Tennessee and had just arrived in Florida for their honeymoon.
