Two CVS pharmacies raided in DEA pill bust

SANFORD, Fla.,None — Drug enforcement agents raided two CVS pharmacies in a prescription pill bust in Seminole County on Saturday.

The CVS pharmacies that were raided are located on South Orlando Drive and West 1st Street in Sanford. The raids began shortly before noon Saturday.

WFTV was there as DEA agents removed several boxes of evidence from the two CVS locations.

Officials would not release any details regarding the busts, except that they dealt with prescription pills.

The busts were related to the suspension of Cardinal Health's controlled substances license at its Lakeland facility on Friday. The facility is a distribution center that services hundreds of pharmacies in Florida.

A CVS spokesman told Eyewitness News the DEA has suspended the two locations from dispensing controlled substances.

No one was arrested in either of the CVS raids on Saturday.

DEA officials say more detailed information will be released on Monday.
