Two missing teens rescued from Banana River

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — The U.S. Coast Guard rescued two teenagers from the Banana River Wednesday night after they hadn’t been seen for more than eight hours.

The boys said they were out in the river in an inflatable raft when it flipped.

"It was really choppy and the water was splashing us," one of the boys said. "We were in an inflatable boat and when we flipped and then it like, flew away."

They said they clung to a buoy until rescuers arrived.

Coast Guard officials said it was fortunate that the teens were rescued before hypothermia set in.

Officials said the boys are in good condition.
