UCF fraternity suspended after alleged hazing photo surfaces

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — The Sigma Chi fraternity at the University of Central Florida has been suspended after a photo showing alleged hazing was posted to social media websites.

In the photo, which was taken at a local bar, a man was drinking what appears to be an alcoholic drink that's being given to him by another person.

To the right, two men are sitting on a couch and appear to be sick.

In a statement, UCF officials said, "The photo started the review, and the decision to issue an interim suspension was made based on the photo plus additional information provided to the university."

The photo was posted to Facebook and and a website called Totalfratmove.com.

A caption that was posted with the photo read, "Forcing a pledge to chug while to others puke in misery."

The picture has since been removed from both sites.

According to school officials, the interim suspension was issued following "a preliminary review of hazing and alcohol-related allegations."

This isn't the first time the Sigma Chi fraternity has been punished.

In 2011, the fraternity was put on probation following a party where alcohol was served.
