USCG searches for missing fisherman off Satellite Beach

U.S. Coast Guardsmen have been searching for a missing boater off of Satellite Beach since 10 p.m. Sunday.

Guardsmen said Lloyd Chamberlain's boat was found early Monday morning after a search was launched because he had not returned from a trip the night before. He was not aboard.

Chamberlain, 38, was reported missing by a friend after he hadn’t returned home at dusk, guardsmen said.
Officials said the boat was found after Chamberlain’s cellphone was pinged.
Guardsmen said the waters had been rough and there's a small-craft advisory in effect
Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officials and Brevard County deputies are assisting in the search for Chamberlain.
"Whenever the (USCG) searches for anyone, anyone in distress at all, we go into that operation with a sense of optimism, that we're going to find somebody alive," Stephen Lehmann of the Coast Guard said.
Chamberlain’s girlfriend said he’s a professional fisherman who is experienced and cautious.
