VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — A Volusia County Sheriff's helicopter made an emergency landing on the beach Wednesday morning.
According a sheriff's spokesman, the helicopter, Air One, was on a routine flight when the crew felt a shudder in the engine. The pilot decided to make an emergency landing.
The helicopter landed safely, under power, just over a mile north of Ponce Inlet around 10:30 a.m.
No one was injured in the landing and there was no damage to the helicopter according to the spokesman.
At around 1 p.m. the pilot was able to fly the helicopter from the beach back to the aircraft's hangar.
