Volusia County tees up vote on new SunRail corridor

The Volusia County Council plans to vote on the proposed Sunshine Corridor before the Sept. 22 meeting of SunRail’s governing board, the Central Florida Commuter Rail Commission.

The council will meet Sept. 20 to determine the county’s position on the proposed shared corridor for commuter rail SunRail and intercity rail Brightline that would run from Orlando International Airport to International Drive/Orange County Convention Center.

Meanwhile, the Central Florida Commuter Rail Commission — which consists of the city of Orlando as well as Orange, Osceola, Seminole and Volusia counties — next week will take its own vote on the expansion of SunRail along the proposed Sunshine Corridor.
