Daytona Beach Bike Week: How long will it last?

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Close to half a million bikers will be taking a ride over to Daytona Beach over the next 10 days for bike week.

The annual event generates millions for the economy, but it’s not as busy as it was in years past.

Over the years, vendors and even the bikers themselves admit the number of attendees is dropping.

The age of the average biker is going up. Most are now in their 60s, and only a handful seem to be in their 20s or 30s.

It has some questioning how much longer events like it will last.

People told Channel 9 that they do feel optimistic the event will keep going.
