Edgewater neighborhood under boil water notice after repair, maintenance of water system

EDGEWATER, Fla. — The City of Edgewater issued a neighborhood boil water notice Thursday for work on its water system.

City officials said homes between 2003 to 2011 on Glenbrooke Road had their water shut off for repair and maintenance, and the boil water notice was issued as a precaution.

Residents are advised to boil all water before using it for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth or washing dishes.

The water should be brought to a rolling boil for at least one minute.

The water should be left to cool before use to avoid injury.

Bottled water can also be used as an alternative.

The precautionary boil water notice will remain in effect until a bacteriological survey shows the water is safe to drink.
