Man found dead in open hallway after shooting at Daytona Beach apartment complex, police say

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Police are looking for a gunman after a man was found dead due to a shooting at an apartment complex in Daytona Beach.

Officers said Shaquan M. Willoughby, 23, was found at 4:21 a.m., shot to death at an apartment complex near Beville Road and Williamson Boulevard.

First responders found Willoughby dead in a breezeway near the back of the apartment complex.

Several witnesses told dispatchers they heard numerous gunshots and the sound of a vehicle leaving the apartment complex shortly afterward, police said.

Investigations are trying to find the shooter and the vehicle used to make the getaway.
