Volusia County Schools to require all adults wear face masks on campus beginning Thursday

Volusia County Schools is requiring all adults on its campuses and facilities to wear face coverings starting Thursday.

The district said this will apply to any employee, parent, volunteer or visitor when they are indoors and cannot socially distance.

The mandate will be in effect for 30 days, then the superintendent will reevaluate it.

Face coverings for students remain optional. However, district officials are strongly encouraging them to wear a face mask or face shield while indoors and near other people at school.
