Warrant issued for Rockledge man accused of running illegal strip mall casinos

ROCKLEDGE, Fla. — Channel 9 was there Tuesday as deputies and police began serving a search warrant at a Brevard county home they believe is linked to a strip mall casino.

Investigators said they're still looking for the former resident of the Donegal Drive home, who is believed to be the manager of strip mall casinos raided in Rockledge last month.

Earlier this month, the Illegal Gaming Task Force served search warrants at strip mall casinos in five Florida counties.

Some of those warrants were served in Brevard County at locations including United American Apparel in Rockledge, but authorities still have not found the owner, Khalid Kadwai.

Investigators said Tuesday they have a warrant for Kadwai's arrest.

One neighbor told Channel 9 there was always a lot of activity around Kadwai's home.

"There was a lot of activity, cars, many cars in the driveway," said neighbor Lori Shavot. "I came here frequently to check on the building of our home, and there would be multiple cars in the driveway from multiple states."

Investigators are taking numerous photos and have been collecting evidence all day.
