A Marion County Sheriff’s Office K-9 named “Robo” helped take down a Dunnellon man accused of domestic battery, deputies said.
Deputy Tim Fretts and Robo tracked Quintine Austin, 35, who was hiding in a wooded area, after he allegedly beat a woman with a mop handle and kicked her in the head several times before running away, deputies said.

K-9 ROBO LOCATES DANGEROUS DOMESTIC BATTERY SUSPECT

On Saturday, November 24, 2018, Deputy Silas Caruthers responded to 7000 NW Gainesville Road in reference to a domestic battery. The investigation revealed that the defendant, Quintine Austin (DOB:07/04/1983), arrived at the victim's residence, and he and the victim became involved in an argument. Austin then struck the victim with a mop handle and kicked her in the head several times. She was transported to the hospital, where it was determined that she was suffering from a possible skull fracture. The defendant left the scene but was soon located by K-9 Deputy Tim Fretts and his K-9 "Robo," and Austin was taken into custody without incident. GREAT TEAMWORK EVERYONE! Austin went to the victim’s home on NW Gainesville Road in Ocala Saturday. The pair got into an argument, before Austin beat the victim, deputies said. The victim suffered a skull fracture and was hospitalized, authorities said.
Austin was arrested on battery, obstruction of justice and criminal mischief charges, deputies said.
