SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. — A Deltona man had a close call after his car caught fire following a crash along a Seminole county roadway on New Year’s Day.
According to the Seminole County Sheriff’s office, 41-year-old Brett Miller was driving east on Osceola Road near Osceola Fish Camp Road just after 11 p.m. Jan. 1 when he failed to make a turn and crashed into a power pole.

Miller told deputies that he lost consciousness after the crash and awoke to find his car had caught fire.
Video from the Seminole Sheriff’s helicopter shows residents quickly running to the burning car and breaking out a back window to make sure there was nobody else inside.

The fire, which had spread to a nearby sign and some woods, was quickly put out by firefighters.
Miller, who was the only person in the car, was able to crawl to safety and was treated by rescue personnel for minor injuries.
