Winter Park HS coach accused of inappropriate relationship with minor

WINTER PARK, Fla. — A coach at Winter Park High School who was arrested after accusations he had an inappropriate relationship with a minor bonded out of jail Friday.

Ashley Sinclair Brown, 29, was arrested at his Winter Park home and charged with lewd or lascivious molestation of a victim older than 12 but younger than 16, among additional charges.

The victim's parents said their daughter woke up hysterically crying, saying Brown had been sending her sexually explicit text messages and asking for nude photos and videos of her, according to a report.

The victim said Brown threatened her, saying he would start disgraceful rumors if she didn't comply.

In the texts, Brown wrote, "Record yourself."

Then he wrote, "Send me what I want and I will think about giving you what you want."

The victim also claimed Brown had slapped and pinched her buttocks in the past and touched her inappropriately.

Other students said they saw Brown grope the victim on campus.

"I cannot believe it's Sinclair. [He] doesn't have that kind of demeanor; doesn't have that, 'Yo baby' thing going on," said resident Ceasar Colucci.

Brown is an assistant football coach at Winter Park High School and was also the head coach for the girls' basketball team.

Brown was released from the Orange County Jail on $5,600 bond. He has not talked to police and has hired a lawyer.

Authorities said they don't believe there are any other victims.

Since the Orange County School District is not open Friday, officials said they will figure out how they will handle Brown on Monday.

He's been ordered to stay away from the victim
