Woman accused of stealing from athletic association to face judge

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — A Brevard County woman accused of stealing money from an athletic association is going before a judge Tuesday.

Police said the former Palm Bay Youth Athletic Association president was caught on an ATM camera taking cash from the league's account.

Sharon Allison Loring's arrest records show she used the money for personal expenses, such as shopping at David's Bridal.

Now, the league is trying to raise money to make sure it doesn't have any issues with paying vendors.

Loring is accused of taking possibly thousands of dollars from the association and spending the money on personal things.

Police said Loring was caught on camera withdrawing $100 from the league account.

Investigators said they found Loring paying credit card bills and car payments with league funds.

At this point, investigators said they have evidence to prove Loring took more than $1,900 from the league. But, after going through account records, league administrators fear they're missing between $14,000 and $16,000.

Loring pleaded not guilty to the third-degree felony charge of organized fraud.
