FHP: 4 hospitalized after multi-car crash on I-4

ORLANDO, Fla. — Four people were hospitalized following a crash on Interstate 4 involving six vehicles, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The multi-vehicle crash shut down westbound I-4 near Sand Lake Road for more than two hours on Thursday morning, causing major traffic delays.

The crash happened around 4:30 a.m.

FHP said that there were three separate crashes that happened on the highway.

Troopers said Jennifer Muroski, 23, of Ocklawaha suffered minor injuries after abruptly cutting across all of the westbound lanes and crashed into Junior Almonte, 19, of Kissimmee, who also suffered minor injuries.

FHP said Ambar Acosta, 22 of Kissimmee slowed down due to the crash and that is when Felix Maysonet, 57, of Orlando failed to slow down and crashed into Acosta's vehicle.

A fifth vehicle driven by Lauren Traver, 21, of Orlando slowed down as well, but James Jaeger, 52 of Orlando did not and crashed his car into hers.

According to an FHP report, Muroski was issued a ticket for improper lane change. Maysonet and Jaeger were issued tickets for careless driving.

The report said Acosta and her passenger, William Westbrook 22, obtained serious injuries and were hospitalized.

Almonte and Traver were also hospitalized with minor injuries.
